Overview

As we age, the abundance of collagen fibres that once kept our skin looking plump and healthy begin to diminish and give way to skin imperfections. Luckily for Kelowna and Okanagan Valley patients, laser resurfacing treatments are more comfortable, safe, and effective than ever before. Suitable for all skin types and tones, and with minimal downtime, the Fotona FRAC3® and the Fotona MicroLaserPeel stimulate collagen production to treat wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin texture and tone, and even skin laxity.

How it Works

As the laser light from the Fotona FRAC3® or the Fotona MicroLaserPeel is passed along the skin’s surface, it targets imperfections in the skin while leaving surrounding healthy tissues untouched. The heat from the laser causes deep heating and conditioning to help rejuvenate the skin and stimulate the production of new collagen and the formation of tighter, firmer, smoother, and healthier skin. The length of your laser resurfacing treatment varies based on the treatment area, but typically takes less than an hour.

Recovery & Results

Following treatment, some mild redness and swelling similar to a sunburn may be present. Patients can anticipate this to dissipate within 24 hours, and can return to their regular activities in the meantime. Results will continue to improve over the next three to four weeks as new collagen is formed. The number of treatments required will be different for each patient. Most patients are recommended 1-4 treatments to reach desired results. The more significant the condition, the more treatments that may be recommended. For those who choose to have multiple treatments, we always recommend at least a couple months in between appointments. Regular maintenance treatments may be recommended for best results.
